B1.
There Was A Day

B2.

note: "The last 4/4 techno release was his amazing release on KMS (The Book). While busy running his own cool Vmax label for his obscure and more freaky electro-techno experiments, Heath drops some amazing techno tracks on Frantic Flowers that will be appealing to a much wider audience then his release on Frantic Flower's sister label Frustrated Funk. Classic Detroit techno energetic and uplifting with smooth effective basslines."

Irma

note: "Convextion’s Gerard Hanson has been creating techno since the mid-nineties. Last year his self-titled album on Down Low generated a lot of hype, and recently Psykofuk, DeepChord, and Echospace remixed “Miranda,” a track that’s been played by quite a few big-name Detroit DJs. Through his E.R.P. alias, Hanson explores the subtleties of “intelligent techno,” that brief early nineties movement when home listening diverged just slightly from the dance floor. The result is one of the most beautiful 12-inches I’ve heard in years. On the title track, drawn-out synthetic voices chime and flutter in dramatic harmony. “Lament Subrosa” sounds strangely familiar, like it’s a lost Speedy J track. A pulsing bass synth adds just the perfect note of tension two-thirds of the way through. Finally, “Irma” gives your woofers a real workout while chimes gently play in the stratosphere. It’s a cleansing shower of sound.

It seems I’m not the only one with a renewed interest in the early nineties. Now that IDM seems to be fading away, it’s the perfect time to start over and explore the origins of the sound." - Jacob Arnold for Gridface.

note: 'This release will carry his more deeper minimalistic approach to his own signature sound. 3 deep excursions trough the mind of this strange character, topping it off with a delicious reshape from Mr. Ovatow. Frantic Flowers stick to their quality.'

bosko zrealizowany techno-eksperyment zainspirowany dubem.
#1 murzyński wokal deklamujący pod wpływem niecodziennych doznań znane i lubiane teksty o sensie, wtóruje mu POTĘŻNY, polmo-polpowo-porter-ricksowy filtr zanurzający baslajny [uwielbiam ten zabieg], piękny taniec rytualnych bębnów i delikatne, narastające, atmosferyczne chordy. ulep wszystkiego za co uwielbiam dub-techno trwa.... niespełna 4 minuty.
czemu nie 24 się pytam?
#2 techdub najwyższych lotów wdzięcznie opuszcza przybrudzone filtry tworząc weisemannopodobną lounge-tech hybrydę, *pure cristal* & *clapy cacucho*
#3 zabawa w turlanie szklanych beczek, hallucinatorowa wstawka i srogi hihat.
#4 rozsadzająca prawą kolumnę igraszka brzmień zawalonych ocieplonymi teksturami.

Ovatow - Phalaenopsis [2007, vinyl, frantic flowers]

Released: 25 October 2007
Label: Frantic Flowers
Genre: Electronic
Style: Dub, Techno, Ambient
Bitrate: 320kbps

Tracklist:
A.
Phalaenopsis - Dub I
B.
Phalaenopsis - Dub II

note: '"Phalaenopsis" opens up with a padded square bassline we're powerless to resist here, a kind of throwback to Mr Finegsr era deep Chicago house and even some cascading piano phrases for good measure. "Dub II' on the flip is in a more purist beatless dub fashion, bringing to made classic material from Vainqueuer and even in places Echospace's sublime "Coldest Season".'

Where's My City

note: sparkling and hypnotic deep techno. its colorful synth chords cascade across fawning pads and a burbling little loop, marching forward to the beat of dusty snare hits and playful sub-bass. rubbery arrangements on a funky voyage to explore space and a spazzed out dance floor.
