[8.5] chrysoberyl

On this live set, recorded last year at a Bleep43 party in London, you'll hear Hanson moving through his trademark sound of fast-paced techno and electro.

zmysłowa elektronika flirtująca z człowieczą akustyką.
różnorodny stylistycznie, dopieszczony do granic perfekcji, bezkompromisowy, miks mistrza deep house'u. pierwszorzędna lekcja miksowania, doskonała selekcja, duży umiar i unikanie zbędnego efekciarstwa/zasłaniania się cekinami. MUST HAVE!

note: interesująca wersja stetryczałego brzmienia lat 90's: syntezatorów leniwa słodycz, zabawa w cukierkowe low-fi, okiełznywana zabrudzonymi i rozciągniętymi w czasie, metalicznymi clapami i surowym drumkickiem. mieszanina 'zakadzonego' hh, paranoidalnego chip tune'u i podtrutego, opanowanego zeszłej nocy przez dziki rave - uk garażu, z dodatkiem zagęszczacza.

Rush Hour, the Amsterdam-based label dealing in house and beyond from the likes of FaltyDL, Virgo, Cosmin TRG and Tom Trago, this week releases the debut album by BNJMN.
Hitherto little-known, this young British producer has a very mature and well-honed sound that reminds us of Detroit-inspired UK techno and pre-lapsarian electronica from the early 90s. Plastic World is his first major offering following a couple of low-key single releases, and arose out of demos he sent to Rush Hour over a period of time. The glistening, utopian arpeggios of ‘Blocks’ set the tone: this is meaty, melodic dance music which is naive in spirit but slick in execution.
'Plastic World' is a double disc entry to his adventurous simulation of early '90s UK electronica, rooted in Chicago's more searching, synthetic strains and ready for the more discerning modern jacker.
w tej serii będę dumnie wypinać pierś próbując subtelnie zasugerować kilka wydawnictw z mijającego preludium sezonu ogórkowego, kto zechce, ten znajdzie, oto i one:

note: "Arcanoid continues where he left after his first outing on Semantica. Five extremely atmospheric, emotional and well produced tracks make sure this is yet another release that shouldn't be missed! Of course this mini-LP is brought to you in the classic Semantica style with hand made details on the sleeve, and is limited to just 100 copies." - clone.nl.
duża przyjemność z banalnych oldschool breaków. [7.8]
note: "Space Dimension Controller is the techno funk alias of 19-year-old Jack Hamill. Equally inspired by both the tape warped soundtrack to Garth Merenghi’s Darkplace and early Aphex Twin, Jack’s all-analogue production gives his tracks a timeless sound that’s a mile away from contemporary electro and house. The beats are low slung and funky, and the melodies are addictive and show a natural flair. On The Love Quadrant, a girl / boy vocal exchange sets the scene while the track builds momentum, before the whole thing spaces off on a sweet minimoog solo. On the flip, Electropod-250 Collision has a deep 808 pulse and flanged bass, topped off with Detroit-inspired melodies and blurred out reverbs."
A time after the past and before the future, a rogue astro bandit named Jack Tiraquon has uncovered a relic from the long lost vaults of groove, floating freely in space.
The creator, known as Mr. 8040, is said to have been a high ranking Space Dimension Controller in the quadra-sector of the Tiraquon6 security barrier, but legend tells of Mr. 8040 occasionally losing his mind and breaking out in a frenzy of galactic funk. These frenzies were recorded and are now presented to you as the UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OSCILLATOR."
note: "[...] Till my heart stops" is probably the older of the two, and has survived the humid environment of the mystical washing facilities rather well. I guess he likes to shower long, but never too long. "Kaoz" is a small part of the now infamous "My old piano" sessions at the hangout of Haarlem DJ-collective Kaoz Connection, which where heavily inspired by KLF, The Orb and J-J-J-jack fever. Named after the always-present Diana Ross evergreen "My old piano" on 33rpm these sets they were a pretty mad mix of live electronics and odd tunes, and always ended in either a neighbourhood riot or a civilized police-request. Unfortunately most of these sets are lost forever, but somehow someone managed to press record while the 154 was doing some serious knob twisting. [...] " - distributor.
B. Beat N Path (Brennan Green's Anxious Acid Version)
Jamie Paton & Nigel Of Bermondsey
note: "[...] The A-side version of the title track seems to embody several aspects of the duo’s preferred musical continuum: the decade long post-Comiskey club music cluster-fuck called the 1980s. Beginning with some shoe-gazed funk guitar, the track nonchalantly whistles its way into a comfortable, if jaded, groove that willfully ambles along into an acid-washed breakdown. Things get a bit weird for a minute or two but come back around in time and without too much scandal. The cycle repeats as if to show how matter-of-factly one could walk back and forth twice from opposite corners of the Paradise Garage in under eight minutes. “Low Noise” strikes a semi-anguished robo-tone that quietly broods along the alleys of your mind, until some perky percussion lifts the computer blue mood into a stuttering semi-clear resolution. For all that, the restricted economy of its pace and arrangement make it a bit of a rough diamond that probably won’t catch as many ears as it should.
The exact opposite holds for Brennan Green’s flipside remix of the title track. Banging the original up a few notches (and bpms), Green wastes no time taking full advantage of his 303 in developing the track’s acidic elements. Flat like the makeshift plywood walls at a warehouse party, the track remains structurally consistent — only once dangling Hoyle’s whimsical hook over the dance floor — but is made up of millions of tiny variations. It sounds like an obvious tipping point to the night: you realize you’re either having the time of your life or your moments away from losing it completely. Could be the same thing, really. As the title suggests, looking for an obvious progressive bend to this release misses the point entirely. It’s often easy to become fixated with the emergence or perfection of a certain genre in a certain year in a certain place — and there is the temptation to look for similarly fortuitous circumstances on the horizon — but if anything, Cage & Aviary suggest it can be just as interesting reading at length between the genre lines." - Little White Earbuds' review.
note: "The new highly limited release on Field Records, Field 03, features two artists from the North, namely Mohlao (Meanwhile, Piece Communications) and dutch Techno wonder Conforce (Field, Curle, Rush Hour). This time, Conforce delivers two deep and moody, analog tracks, while Mohlao presents 10 minutes of Dub-Techno at its best. And just like Field 1 and 2, Field 03 will be sold as highly limited 12″ vinyl release (only 100 copies pressed worlwide, available through Clone) No repress yet, so don’t sleep on this one.
But don’t worry, cause due to the large demand all Field releases will also be available in digital format as well really soon through all major download portals, including Beatport, DJDownload, Juno and many more."
